A few weeks ago, 4H and 3/4M went to the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens to study native plants.
When we arrived, we were split into two groups. Hannah and I were in Mrs Morgan's group.
First of all we filled out an information sheet about plants then we went to the potting shed to plant some seedlings with Bernadette.
First we had to fill the pots three quarters full with soil, then we gently pinched the plant between the roots and the beginning of the shoots, while resting our hand on the pot. This made sure the plant was in the right position. When we filled the pot almost to the top, we could let go. Finally we sprinkled a pinch of fertiliser on top and filled the rest with soil. I got to plant three plants.
Then it was time to pack up, go to lunch and have a play, which I really enjoyed.
After lunch we all swapped around and I went on the walk.
For the walk we were split into even smaller groups. We got work sheets and we had to find the things on them.. I found everything except one and got 4 bonus stamps.
Then it started to rain, so we made our way back a bit earlier than planned, which was lucky because it started to pour. When the rain stopped, we got on the bus and eneded up at school safe and sound.
