Kirsty Campbell and Amanda Smith, both volunteer lifesavers from Broulee Surf Club, kindly offered to talk to Stage 2 students about Surf Safety. They showed students how to stay safe at the beach, spot a rip, and what to do if they get caught in one. On behalf of stage 2, I would like to thank Kirsty and Amanda for giving up their time in order to help our students stay safe in the ocean.
I found a mud wasp nest in the bricks outside my mum's room. I told my dad and he said that he found wasp nests in the bass of the flutes downstairs in the work shop. My dad said I could take one to school to show my friends. Then I hollowed out the flute at school and found two dead wasps and an egg. Roisin. Mrs Morgan, Mrs Hanks and Mrs Hounsell hosted the Broulee PS Stall at the Moruya, South East Harvest Festival. 3/4M and 4H students had artwork, ebooks, games, bookmarks , information posters, fact sheets and seedlings for sale. Mrs Hanks had seeds for children to pot in newspaper pots. Costa from Gardening Australia was there and hosted some fun games such as sack races, pumpkin rolling and a tug-o-war. Rielly Cottier won the pumpkin rolling race. Many thanks to Mr and Mrs Morgan for kindly donating some beautiful bromeliads for a raffle, the Cottier family and Mr Nigel Dallas for donating seedlings for us to sell. The day was a great success. Thank you to all the Broulee PS families who supported our stall. Today we started preparing for our stall at the South East Harvest Festival, Saturday November 8th, in Moruya. We turned recycled milk bottles into pots for the seedlings we had been growing from seed. We potted Birdseye chilli, , Long, Yellow capsicum and Californian Wonder capsicum. Brena, Harry, Charlie and myself, Madeline, wrote the names of the plants on wooden sticks. We also collected sticks to make stakes for our tomatoes. We enjoyed some strawberries afterwards, as a reward for our hard work. Harry, Charlie, Hannah, Brena, Madeline. Youtube link to Lipdub.
